Atlantis was mentioned within an allegory on the hubris of nations in Plato’s works, and in this allegory, Atlantis eventually submerges into the Atlantic Ocean. Despite the fact that most agree that the city never existed, some people still search for the remains of the most famous lost city in history, which according to Plato is located “beyond the Pillars of Hercules”.
