Anish Kanjilal : wins Utkarsha Samman 2024

Renowned poet, educator, and speaker Anish Kanjilal was recently honored with the prestigious UTKARSHA SAMMAN Achiever Award at Rabindra Sadan on October 21, 2024. This recognition is a testament to his invaluable contributions to Indian literature and education. The award ceremony and felicitation was chaired  by artists Rupa Dutta Chowdhury and Pranati Saha  and was presided by Ashis Basak , charter president  and chairperson  @ Rotary club @ lions club, Kolkata.

The event marked the press release  of five anthologies featuring Kanjilal’s works as celebrated pieces.

Early Life and Education

Born on June 23, 1976, in Kolkata, India, Anish Kanjilal’s fascination with literature and philosophy began at an early age. He pursued his education at St. Mary’s School, Vidyasagar College, Calcutta University, and Indira Gandhi National University, eventually earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Communication and Programming.

Professional Life

As Director and Senior Lecturer at Educare The Institute in Kolkata, Kanjilal has significantly influenced the educational landscape. His dedication to teaching has seamlessly blended with his poetic endeavours, earning him notable recognition.

Kanjilal’s poetry collections, “Fateless 13” and “11 Oracles,” have garnered widespread acclaim. “Fateless 13” explores life’s complexities, navigating the spectrum of human emotions. “11 Oracles” delves into philosophical and existential realms, illuminating hidden truths.
