Atherosclerosis–TheSilentDangerWeOftenOverlook

Atherosclerosis is one of those health conditions that quietly develops in the background, often without any obvious symptoms, until it turns into something much more serious. It’s a condition where the arteries the blood vessels responsible for carrying oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body startto narrowand hardenduetoabuildupofplaque.Thisplaqueismade upof fats, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances found inthe blood. Over time, it restricts blood flow and can lead to life-threatening complications like heart attacks, strokes, or even the need for limb amputation.

The good news is that atherosclerosisis bothpreventable and manageable. It all begins with lifestyle changes something we all can work on. Taking care of our arteries is taking care of our future. Let’s not ignore the signs our body might be silently giving us. Prevention, timely intervention, and a proactive approach to health can go a long way.

Taking Control of Atherosclerosis: Awareness and Action

As a member of the Vascular Society Of India , I’m committed to spreading awareness about atherosclerosis, a condition where plaque builds up in the arteries, leading to serious health risks. To further this mission, we’re organizing an Awareness Week from August 4th to 9th, with the goal of promoting early detection, prevention, and treatment.

Let’s work together to take control of atherosclerosis and promote heart health. By spreading awareness and promoting early detection and prevention, we can reduce the burden of this condition and improve overall health outcomes.
