Chernobyl 30 years later: Inside exclusion zone (photos)

It’s been about 30 years since a reactor glitch at the Chernobyl atomic force plant in the Ukraine sent tufts of radioactive material into the climate to the extent Western Europe.

Specialists were leading a test on April 26, 1986, to see whether the turbines could continue cooling pumps running amid lost force. Thirty seconds into the test, the force surged. The crisis shutdown fizzled, and the reactor’s fuel bars cracked, bringing about a blast in Unit 4.

 

Chernobyl is the most exceedingly bad power plant mischance ever, it is named level 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale. Just the Fukushima Daiichi mischance in Japan positions as high.
