Denny Hamlin won by just 0.010 seconds

The Daytona 500 saw the nearest ever complete in the race’s 58-year history on Sunday night when Denny Hamlin crossed the completion line only 0.010 seconds in front of his nearest rival.

The 35-year-old, driving a Toyota, began the last lap of the 500-mile race in fourth yet tore his way go down to grab the checkered banner from Martin Truex Jr.

Hamlin hauled out of line with a lap to go and initially pursued down partner Matt Kenseth. He fought off Kenseth’s square, and wedged in the middle of him and Truex. Hamlin then kept focused for a way to-entryway dash to the completion line.

“You couldn’t have written a better ending,” Hamlin said, who won the ‘Great American Race’ interestingly at the eleventh endeavor.

He included: “I knew it was close, yet I didn’t know we had won.”

Truex said: “I thought I could keep that foot or so. I lost it in the last second.”
Ruling champion Kyle Busch completed in third.
