Dr. Mahboob Sadal Khan’s Padma Shri 2026 Nomination Highlights Mewat’s Global Healthcare Contribution

The nomination of Dr. Mahboob Sadal Khan for the Padma Shri Award 2026 in Healthcare & Medicine has brought national attention to the Mewat region of Rajasthan, highlighting its growing contribution to India’s global healthcare outreach and medical tourism sector.

Dr. Khan, a philanthropic healthcare entrepreneur from Kaman, is widely recognised for facilitating quality medical treatment for patients from Africa and the Middle East while strengthening India’s role as an international healthcare destination. His work has contributed significantly to foreign healthcare and education inflows, reinforcing India’s economic and diplomatic engagement with developing regions.
The nomination has been welcomed by the medical fraternity and public representatives, who see it as recognition of sustained humanitarian service, international healthcare collaboration, and community-focused medical initiatives originating from rural Rajasthan.

In 2021, Dr. Khan received the African Icon Award from ICRED (Africa) for his contributions to improving healthcare access across African nations. His efforts have received appreciation from international governments, healthcare institutions, and diplomatic missions for enabling affordable and advanced treatment options.

Beginning his career in the pharmaceutical industry with leading companies such as Sun Pharmaceuticals and Intas Biopharmaceuticals, Dr. Khan was involved in cancer product marketing and clinical trials at AIIMS, New Delhi. During this period, he assisted thousands of patients in accessing free tertiary care and remained actively engaged in community healthcare through large-scale ophthalmology camps in Kaman in collaboration with Delhi-based Venu Eye Institute.

Expanding his mission globally, he established healthcare and medical supply operations in Africa and later founded AL-SADAL Services Pvt. Ltd., operating in India, Oman, and Nigeria. The organisation works in medical tourism, education services, and international healthcare partnerships, while also supporting economically weaker international patients through treatment facilitation and humanitarian assistance.
Dr. Khan is also the author of “Help and Assistance Guide”, endorsed by the Nigerian High Commission, which serves as a reference for international patients seeking medical treatment in India.

His work spans COVID-19 relief, cancer clinical trials, free medical camps, healthcare business facilitation, and bilateral trade cooperation. He currently plays a key role in strengthening India–Nigeria healthcare ties through the Nigeria India Business Council.

The Padma Shri nomination is being seen as recognition of Dr. Mahboob Sadal Khan’s long-standing commitment to healthcare excellence, humanitarian values, and the global promotion of India’s medical and educational capabilities.
