Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras Receives Three Honorary Doctorates for Human Rights Work

Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras’s research “Psychological, Emotional and Social Impact of Sexual Abuse in Yoga Power Dynamics and Spiritual Contexts: Global Analysis of Victims of Gurus and Religious Leaders, with an Integral Approach on Human Rights, Social Justice, and Mental Health for the Empowerment of Survivors,” has been widely acclaimed for its innovative approach in addressing trauma within religious and spiritual structures. Conducted across India, Venezuela and the United States, his study offers a new framework for healing and empowerment, focusing on the rights of survivors and the responsibilities of institutions. Recognizing the importance of his work, institutions such as the Global Human Peace University, Global Human Rights Trust, and the Human Rights Council of India have honored him with three prestigious Honorary Doctorates. These institutions, aligned with United Nations human rights guidelines, have acknowledged his lifelong commitment to mental health and justice.

Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras holds a Ph.D. in Human Rights with a specialization in Domestic and Gender Violence, as well as a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in International Business. His impressive academic background includes multiple Master’s degrees in neuropsychology, cognitive disorders, human resources management, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), and special education. He is also a certified Consultant in Ayurvedic Medicine and a recognized Yoga Master. His expertise spans various disciplines, enabling him to integrate scientific knowledge with holistic healing practices.

Currently, Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras leads Prema Yoga in Venezuela, where he focuses on using yoga as a therapeutic tool for mental and physical well-being. He also works in hospitals and private clinics as a neuropsychologist, specializing in cognitive rehabilitation and trauma recovery. Additionally, he runs Prema Social Service, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Through this initiative, he provides psychological counseling, social support, and advocacy to those affected by trauma.

Over the years, Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras’s humanitarian work has earned him numerous international awards. He is the recipient of the Humanitarian Excellence Award (India, 2020-2022), making him the only Venezuelan and Latin American honoree. His dedication to social impact through yoga earned him the Best Yoga Teacher Award from the Indian Embassy in Venezuela (2019-2022). His contributions to neuropsychology and therapy have also been recognized with the International Tacarigua Award (2023) for Neuropsychologist of the Year, the International Mara Award (2023) for International Impact Therapist of the Year, and the Wellness Advisor with Social Impact Award (2024).

Between December 2024 and February 2025, his global influence was further solidified with additional prestigious honors, including the Exclusive Global Honor Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award, the National Mahatma Gandhi Award, the International Educationist Aryabhata Award, the International Social B.R. Ambedkar Award, and the International Religious Gautam Buddha Award. Beyond his academic and humanitarian work, Dr. Robinson Morey Contreras is also a passionate advocate for the arts. As a tenor and a member of Venezuela’s National System of Orchestras and Choirs (El Sistema), he believes in the transformative power of music.
