Exasol and adesso India open Exasol Tech Hub in Chennai to accelerate development of the Exasol Analytics Engine

Chennai, India, October 16, 2025 – Exasol, provider of the world’s most powerful Analytics Engine, together with adesso, Germany’s largest IT service provider, today announced the opening of the Exasol Tech Hub in Chennai, India. Operated by adesso India, the hub will bring together top engineering talent to advance the Exasol Analytics Engine -prioritizing AI-native capabilities that turn complex data into decisions, faster.

The Tech Hub elevates the shared commitment of Exasol and adesso to product innovation and engineering excellence. With this expansion, teams will embed AI across the analytics lifecycle: from intelligent workload optimization and automated performance tuning to AI-assisted data preparation and insight generation. The aim is clear—help enterprises compress time-to-insight, lower operating costs, and scale analytics with confidence across on-premises and hybrid environments.

The Exasol Tech Hub in Chennai will be pivotal to Exasol’s global growth, targeting foundational modernization to unlock AIready analytics at scale. By leveraging India’s engineering talent and the delivery excellence of adesso, the initiative will accelerate:

  • AI-native capabilities and data types: Add vectors and semantic search (for RAG), enrich SQL usability, and evolve the UDF framework to power modern, unstructured, and assistive analytics.
  • Cloud-native deployment and elasticity: Introduce Kubernetes/Terraform support and ARM portability to enable dynamic scaling and broader, cost-efficient platform coverage.
  • Ecosystem integrations: Build deep compatibility with the modern data stack (dbt Cloud, Airbyte, Dagster, Fivetran, Airflow) so Exasol fits seamlessly into end-to-end workflows.

Chennai, often hailed as the “Detroit of India” offers the ideal ecosystem for this expansion, with strong IT infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and a thriving innovation culture. Together, Exasol and adesso aim to build an environment that encourages creativity, fosters collaboration, and drives continuous improvement, helping enterprises make smarter, AI-augmented, data-driven decisions at scale.

“This strategic expansion underscores our focus on innovation and excellence,” said Jörg Tewes, CEO of Exasol. “The India Tech Hub will significantly strengthen our core development capabilities. By integrating AI deeper into the Exasol Analytics Engine, we’ll deliver simpler, faster paths from raw data to high-impact insights.”

Mark Lohweber, CEO of adesso SE, added: “We are excited to support Exasol in establishing its Global Capability Center in India. This initiative is more than setting up operations, it’s about creating an innovation hub that unites Exasol’s leading analytics technology with the global delivery expertise of adesso. Together, we are building AI-enabled analytics foundations that will deliver lasting value to enterprises worldwide.”

With this launch, Exasol and adesso reaffirm their commitment to driving global innovation from India, setting new benchmarks in AI-powered analytics and engineering excellence.
