Federer knock down Dimitrov at Australia Open for 300th Grand Slam

Roger Federer  the first ever man to take past Grigor Dimitrov to take up 300 Gand Slam match victories and securely achieve the 4th circular at the Australia Open on Friday.

The 17-time significant champion and third seeds won 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 2 hours, 40 minutes under the shut ceiling on Rod Laver Field and will experience Belgium’s Fifteenth seed David Goffin in the next round.Federer becomes the first man to win 300 Grand Slam suits and expands his history over Bulgarian 27th seeds Dimitrov, known as “Baby Fed” because of the likeness in their playing style, to 5-0.Last year Federer was ambushed in the third round by Italian Andreas Seppi, but he created no error now at the same level against Dimitrov.
But it was not an entirely effective show from the four-time Australia Open champion who dedicated an uncharacteristic 55 unforced initiatives, much more than Dimitrov’s 44.
“It was a difficult position for me after losing the second set and Grigor was playing well. I thought I was struggling a little bit,” Federer said.
“I didn’t feel it was really happening out there and it was an important start for me to the third set.
“Thankfully I got the early break and I was able to stay in the lead and everything started to come back, the serve, my footwork.It was complicated, but those matches are even nicer to win, I must say.”Federer only lost his servve in 18 service games and split the Bulgarian’s deliver four periods, twice in the third set, with Dimitrov having difficulties by a distressing right shoulder and dropping delivering strength.He desired courtside remedy from the instructor several periods during the match.
