A tribute to the Dhaliwal family’s remarkable contributions to society, nationally and internationally.
Chandigarh, November 26:
In a prestigious ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Punjab, Governor of Punjab Gulab Chand Kataria unveiled ‘Mehr’, the 62nd coffee table book by Manish Media. The book is a heartfelt tribute to the Dhaliwal family, led by internationally recognized Sikh and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) philanthropist Darshan Singh Dhaliwal. It highlights the family’s exceptional contributions to social service, both in India and abroad.
The ‘Mehr’ coffee table book meticulously documents the Dhaliwal family’s service to society, achievements, and philanthropic endeavors. Darshan Singh Dhaliwal made headlines for his charitable work during the farmers’ protests, a gesture that saw him being barred from entering India at the time. However, this was later resolved when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited him to his residence and personally honored him. Furthermore, in 2019, Dhaliwal was recognized with India’s highest NRI honor during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore.
The Dhaliwal family’s contributions extend beyond Indian borders. In the United States, they are renowned for their dedication to supporting the Indian community. From assisting immigrants in overcoming challenges to creating employment opportunities, empowering youth, and addressing various community needs, the Dhaliwal family has consistently been at the forefront of social service.
As part of the occasion, a copy of ‘Mehr’ was also presented to Gurdeep Singh Dhillon, the leader of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas sect. Over the years, Manish Media has published 61 other coffee table books, each chronicling the lives of notable personalities. These books have been unveiled by prominent leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, U.S. President Bill Clinton, and India’s 14th President Ram Nath Kovind.
The ‘Mehr’ unveiling event was graced by notable attendees, including Manish Media Chairman Chandmal Kumawat, Director Abhishek Kumawat, Chardikla Time TV Director Sardar Harpreet Singh Dardi, former Cabinet Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, and Preet Combine Chairman Hari Singh Nama.
During the unveiling, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria praised the Dhaliwal family’s unwavering dedication to societal welfare both in India and overseas. He acknowledged their significant impact and wished them continued success in their philanthropic journey.
