India’s First AI Bestie WTMF to Launch Beta — Redefining Emotional Support with Conversational AI

Hyderabad: What’s The Matter, Friend? (WTMF), India’s first AI Bestie and culturally fluent emotional support AI chatbot, is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated beta version next week.

Built as more than just another mental health chatbot, WTMF is positioned as a conversational AI app designed to listen, understand, and respond with empathy. Unlike generic chatbots, WTMF is an AI chatbot with emotions, offering a safe, private space for people to vent, rant, journal, track moods, or simply talk to someone who understands.

The beta will roll out with chat functionality, while additional features like AI journalingmood tracking, and voice calling with your AI companion are set to launch by the end of September.

Speaking about the upcoming release, the founders said WTMF was born out of a simple but powerful insight: India needed a mental wellness app built for its culture, language, and emotional nuances. “We’re not building another tool for productivity or another deep learning AI chatbot that spits out facts. WTMF is about emotional presence. It’s an AI for emotional support that actually listens,” they said.

A New Kind of Emotional AI App

Unlike traditional mental health apps in India, WTMF bridges the gap between loneliness and connection. The platform uses chatbot conversational AI and deep learning to create an AI companion for emotional support that feels less like a bot and more like a best friend.

Key features coming to users include:

  • Emotional support chat that feels natural and empathetic.
  • Mood tracking with simple visuals to help users understand emotional patterns.
  • AI journaling that encourages reflection without pressure.
  • Voice calling with AI for those moments when typing just feels too heavy.

Why WTMF Stands Out

In a growing market of emotional support chatbots and mental wellness apps, WTMF’s unique proposition lies in its cultural fluency. It understands Hinglish, common Indian emotional phrases like “uff yaar” and “mood off hai”, and is being trained to expand into regional languages.

By blending AI emotional support with privacy-first design, WTMF aims to redefine how Indians experience digital companionship. It’s not just the best AI friend app—it’s an emotional AI app built to feel real.

Beta Launch and Beyond

The beta launch of WTMF is scheduled for next week, opening access to early users who want to experience India’s first AI companion emotional support platform. By September-end, journaling, mood tracking, and voice calls will make WTMF a complete mental health chatbot ecosystem.

With a focus on AI emotional intelligence and human-like empathy, WTMF is poised to be one of the most talked-about launches in the emotional support AI space this year.
