Jane Fonda has uncovered she was sexually abused as a kid.
Addressing to fellow actress Brie Larson for online form retailer Net-a-Porter’s magazine, The Edit, Fonda talked about her contribution in the ladies’ rights movement, clarifying how her own story was characteristic of “a patriarchy” at work.
“To show you the extent to which a patriarchy takes a toll on females; I’ve been raped, I’ve been sexually abused as a child, and I’ve been fired because I wouldn’t sleep with my boss,” she said.
Fonda, who is known as both an actress and fitness guru, has been a solid supporter of women’s activist causes, and women’s sexual health, despite the fact that she had conceded that was not generally the situation.
In her 2005 book, My Life So Far, Fonda uncovered she once battled with distinguishing as a women’s activist since she saw the term to be “anti-male”.
