Mumbai Four Bunglows Gurdwara Extends Flood Relief Aid in Punjab under the Leadership of President Jaspal Singh Suri

Mumbai, October 1, 2025 — The Mumbai Fourr Bunglows Gurdwara Sahib, under the leadership of its President S. Jaspal Singh Suri,and Maninder Singh Suri have successfully carried out a two-phase flood relief and rehabilitation sewa across Punjab’s flood-affected districts including Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, and Ajnala.

Phase 1: Emergency Relief (September 2–10, 2025)

In the immediate aftermath of the floods, emergency aid was extended to provide urgent support. Relief efforts included:

  • Distribution of emergency kits and essentials
  • Provision of boats for evacuation and movement
  • Supply of fodder for livestock

Phase 2: Rehabilitation & Rebuilding Lives (September 18–24, 2025)

Once the floodwaters receded and conditions stabilized, the focus shifted toward helping families rebuild their lives and recover from losses. Major initiatives included:

  • Crop Sponsorship: Full expenditure for wheat crop sowing on 75 acres of farmland in Dubbar village (Ajnala), home to predominantly SC and low-income farmers.
  • Farmer Support: In Ferozepur, when a young farmer attempted to take his life after losing cattle to a snakebite, Mr. Suri personally counselled him at the hospital and provided both moral and financial support, including ₹1.30 lakh for new cattle.
  • Adoption of Harar Kalan Village (Amritsar District): Complete funding of the upcoming crop across 125 acres of farmland, covering seeds, fertilizers, and diesel.
  • Community Support: Sponsorship of three weddings of farmers’ daughters that were at risk of postponement due to financial losses.
  • Housing Assistance: Complete Construction of Houses for families whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged.
  • Donation of 200 beds to the flood relief camps.

Deployment of fogging machines to counter mosquito infestation and health risks

Extent of Relief

Through these initiatives, the Mumbai Chaar Bunglow Gurdwara Sahib has extended aid worth ₹50 lakhs, reaching out to the most affected communities of Punjab’s Majha region, from Ferozepur to Tarn Taran, Amritsar, and Kapurthala.
