Sailen Kumar Chaudhuri Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at Prestigious International Textile Conference

New Delhi, December 19, 2024 – Renowned textile expert and “Father of Wool in India,” Dr. Sailen Kumar Chaudhuri, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Textile Conference jointly organized by the Textile Institute and IIT Delhi on December 14, 2024. The conference brought together leading global minds to address sustainability challenges and opportunities in the textile industry.

The event, held at IIT Delhi, was marked by insightful discussions and impactful presentations. The Chairman of the Northern India Section of the Textile Institute (NISTI), Dr. R. A. Lal, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, including the Chief Guest, Mrs. Roop Rashi, Textile Commissioner of India. Mrs. Rashi’s keynote address on sustainability issues captured the hearts of attendees and provided actionable insights for the future roadmap of India’s textile industry and trade.

Dr. Sailen Kumar Chaudhuri, who attended as a distinguished delegate, contributed to a session focused on medical textiles and the Indian wool sector’s role in rugs and carpets.
