From Mumbai to LA
Sakshi Chopra’s journey to becoming an international singer-songwriter has been anything but conventional. At just 10 years old, she knew her heart belonged to music, and by the age of 18, she had earned a degree in Rock ‘n’ Pop from Trinity College of London. With a powerful voice and raw talent, she began performing at iconic venues in Mumbai, like Hard Rock Café and Aqaba, steadily growing a loyal fanbase.
But Sakshi’s dreams went beyond the familiar world of India’s entertainment industry, where she hails from the prominent Ramanand Sagar family. Despite the comfort and privileges of her background, she made the bold decision to leave everything behind and start fresh in Los Angeles in 2020. Without any illustrious connections in LA, she started from scratch and focused entirely on her music, determined to forge her own path.
Her breakthrough came in January 2024 with the release of her debut single, “Ghosts.” The track quickly amassed 2 million views in just two days, setting the stage for her rise on the global music scene. In May 2024, she followed up with “Hand Me the Gun (Mujhe Bandook Do),” which also went viral, reaching over 1 million views on YouTube and dominating streaming platforms like Spotify.
Sakshi’s powerful voice and personal songwriting resonated with listeners, but it was her ability to connect with fans that truly set her apart. Her Instagram following has skyrocketed to almost 1 million people, who eagerly support her music and her journey.
Behind the scenes, Sakshi’s collaboration with industry heavyweights has been equally impressive. She’s worked with Ariana Grande’s songwriter, an exciting opportunity that further elevates her credibility in the music world. She’s also teamed up with Grammy-winning producers, further propelling her towards her global ambitions.
Now, with four hit singles under her belt and four more ready for release, Sakshi’s future is looking brighter than ever. She’s set to perform in two major live shows scheduled for March 2025, a huge milestone in her career.
