Prayagraj, 20th January, 2025 – The historic Maha Kumbh, a spiritual convergence of millions at Prayagraj, witnesses another milestone this year with the inauguration of a comprehensive health camp by Cheshtha, with support from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), AngelLife Cosmetology and Wellness, MVM Motors, Comfy Mobility and Arogyavaram Critical Care Hospital. This health initiative began on January 17, 2025, at Sector 19, Harshvardhan Marg, offering completely free essential medical services to pilgrims at this globally celebrated event.
Maha Kumbh Mela, deeply rooted in Indian culture, is held every 12 years at the confluence of the sacred rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati but this year its more special as the stars alignment and completion of 12 cycles of 12 Maha Kumbhs. Recognized as the world’s largest religious gathering, it has evolved into a global event under the visionary leadership of our Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Hon. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who have elevated its stature to new heights. The meticulous planning and execution by IAS Vijay Kiran Anand, the Mela Adhikari, have made this year’s Maha Kumbh a resounding success.
The health camp initiative by Cheshtha, financially supported by SIDBI, aims to provide free medical consultations, distribution of medicines, and essential health screenings. The camp is spearheaded by Dr. Shashank Kharabanda, Founder President of Cheshtha, and Mrs. Mrinalini Sur Sthalekar, Project Director, with the support of an exceptional medical team comprising renowned specialists such as Dr. Sabita Dixit, Dr. Rahul Mathur, Dr. Piyush Dixit, Dr. Sunil Vishwakarma, Dr. Swati Chaudhary, Dr. Shaswat Srivastava, Dr. Varun Kharbanda, Dr. Anjana Purnima, Dr. Nikhil Dhawan, Dr. Shubhi Sahai, Dr. Sunil Vishwakarma, Dr. Rahul Solanki and Dr. Anand Chaudhary.
The inaugural ceremony, was performed on January 17 afterreligious “Puja” was performed by priests of the “Sanatan Dharma” on the auspicious day of “Ganesh Chauth”, the event was inaugurated by Hon. MLA Harsh Vardhan Bajpai (City North – Prayagraj). Special acknowledgment was extended to Hon. MLA Deepak Patel, GM – SIDBI Mr. Rajiv Kumar.
Highlights of the health camp include general health check-ups, specialist consultations, distribution of free medicines, and awareness programs. Unique services such as gynecology, cardiology, dental, and eye consultations will ensure comprehensive care for pilgrims. Essential items like sanitary pads, multivitamins, and spectacles will also be distributed during the camp.
The initiative reflects the profound commitment of Cheshtha and SIDBI to public welfare, ensuring the well-being of attendees at the Maha Kumbh. Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Shashank Kharabanda said, “This health camp is a small yet meaningful step in serving the millions of devotees who gather here for spiritual solace.”
The team of dedicated organizers, including Dr. Shweta Srivastava, Mr. Rahul Sthalekar, Mr. Suvansh Agarwal and Mr. Ravi Shankar Verma, will work tirelessly to ensure the camp’s success. On the occasion of the inauguration special thanks were extended to the SIDBI Prayagraj team, led by Assistant General Manager Mr. Amit Rai and Assistant Manager Mr. Shobhit Agarwal, for their unwavering support and Mr. Abinesh Srivastava, Shri Nagendra Singh and Dr. Pankaj Gupta were also thanked for their invaluable contributions and relentless support made this initiative.
