SPEFL and Plan International (India Chapter) Join Hands to Elevate Grassroots Sports Infrastructure and Opportunities

New Delhi,- In a landmark initiative to bolster grassroots sports development and empower young athletes, the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL) and Plan International (India Chapter) have announced a comprehensive series of projects under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The collaborations, supported by HDFC CSR, revolve around upgrading key sports facilities in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana.

Renovation of Baghpat Sports Complex in Uttar Pradesh

Aiming to offer enhanced training and competition spaces for local athletes, this initiative will refurbish existing infrastructure to align with national standards, providing greater access to quality sports facilities.

Establishment of the Grameen Kreeda Kendra at Raja Mahindra Pratap Inter College in Haridwar, Uttarakhand

Focused on nurturing talent in rural areas, this Kreeda Kendra will encourage community sports and provide platforms for youth development, promoting inclusivity and active participation from all strata of society.

Conversion of PM SHRI School SSS Nelokhri in Karnal into a Sports School

By introducing standard sports infrastructure and modern equipment, the initiative seeks to transform the school into a hub for aspiring athletes—offering training, coaching, and holistic development programs.

Creation of a Pentathlon Academy in Haryana

In partnership with the Haryana Pentathlon Association, Tau Devi Lal Keh India, and under the guidance of the Directorate of Sports, Haryana, SPEFL and Plan International (India Chapter) will establish a state-of-the-art academy to train and nurture future pentathletes. Aligned with the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister, this academy will help position Haryana as a leading destination for multisport excellence.
