New Delhi, February 6, 2025 – In a thrilling display of skill, determination, and perseverance, Sudhir Saxena secured a silver medal for India at the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship, held in New Delhi from February 1 to February 5, 2025. Competing in the highly competitive 94 kg category, Sudhir once again proved his mettle, standing tall among the best fighters in the country and reaffirming his status as one of India’s most promising kickboxing talents.

A Gritty Performance on the National Stage

The India Open Kickboxing Championship is known for its intense competition and world-class athletes, and this year was no exception. The event brought together fighters from across India and abroad, all vying for the prestigious title.

Sudhir’s journey through the tournament was nothing short of electrifying. In the opening rounds, he displayed a flawless combination of agility, strength, and tactical brilliance, overpowering his opponents with precision strikes and unbreakable defense. Advancing to the finals, Sudhir faced a fierce competitor in a match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Despite an exemplary performance filled with powerful kicks, strategic counters, and relentless endurance, Sudhir narrowly missed the gold, settling for a hard-fought silver.

“Every match tested my limits, but I fought with all my heart. Winning silver is an honor, but I know I have more to achieve. This is just the beginning,” Sudhir said after the tournament.

A Journey Rooted in Passion and Perseverance

For Sudhir, kickboxing is more than just a sport—it is a way of life. His journey began in Lahasani, Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, where he first discovered his passion for martial arts. Coming from a humble background, Sudhir had to overcome multiple challenges—limited resources, intense competition, and grueling training regimens. But with a relentless spirit and unwavering focus, he turned every obstacle into an opportunity.

One of the biggest pillars of support in his life has been his father, Mr. Suresh Saxena, who encouraged him to pursue his dreams despite the challenges. His wife, Priyanka Gautam, has also played a crucial role, standing by his side through every high and low, offering emotional and moral strength.

Additionally, the Gauravi Foundation, led by Mahesh Verma and Summit Chaudhry, has been instrumental in providing resources and support, enabling Sudhir to focus on his training and achieve greater milestones in his career. Alongside this, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has played a vital role in backing Sudhir, recognizing his talent and commitment to kickboxing. With the support of Shri Ashok Chandra (MD & CEO, PNB), Shri Avadhesh Tiwari (AGM, PNB), and other well-wishers, PNB’s encouragement and sponsorship have significantly contributed to his preparation and success, demonstrating the bank’s dedication to supporting sports and athletes in India.

“My success is not mine alone. It belongs to my family, my friends, my mentors, and organizations like the Gauravi Foundation and Punjab National Bank, who have believed in me and supported me every step of the way,” Sudhir stated with gratitude.

A Symbol of Inspiration for Young Athletes

Sudhir’s rise in the world of kickboxing serves as an inspiration for countless young athletes across India. His journey exemplifies the power of hard work, perseverance, and self-belief. As sports in India continue to evolve, Sudhir’s success sends a powerful message to aspiring fighters—that no dream is too big and no challenge is insurmountable.

He is also deeply committed to giving back to the community. Beyond his personal achievements in sports, Sudhir is actively involved in philanthropy and social work, collaborating with various NGOs to uplift underprivileged communities. His dedication to both sports and society reflects his larger vision of making a meaningful impact beyond the ring.

Looking Ahead: The Road to Gold

While this silver medal is a momentous milestone, Sudhir has his sights set on bigger goals. With upcoming international championships on the horizon, including the Asian Kickboxing Championships and World Championships, he is determined to continue training, improving, and striving for gold.

“Every competition is a stepping stone to something greater. I will keep pushing myself and working hard. My dream is to make India a dominant force in kickboxing, and I wont stop until I achieve that,” he said with determination.

A National Celebration of Excellence

As India continues to make strides in martial arts and combat sports, Sudhir Saxena’s achievement at the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship is a testament to the country’s rising dominance in the field. His journey, filled with hard work, sacrifice, and an indomitable fighting spirit, is a story that will inspire generations to come.
