Hyderabad, May 21, 2024 — In an inspiring show of community spirit and environmental stewardship, Switcheko, Micron Technologies, and eLife Cycle Management teamed up today for a major lake cleanup event at Wipro Lake in Hyderabad. Over 100 dedicated volunteers came together to make a significant impact, collecting an impressive 1900 kgs of waste, including numerous cigarette butts that littered the lake.

The event focused on removing visible trash and highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and safe environment for the local community and marine life. Volunteers worked diligently throughout the day, ensuring that the lake and its surroundings were restored to a healthier state.

Kashyap, the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Elema, and Mr Akshay Deshpande, founder of Switcheko, addressed the volunteers and media during the event. They emphasized the critical role such initiatives play in safeguarding our environment and preserving marine habitats. Their speeches underscored the collaborative effort needed to tackle environmental challenges and foster sustainable practices.

“Cleaning up lakes is not just about removing waste; it’s about rejuvenating ecosystems and protecting the biodiversity that thrives in these waters,” said Kashyap. “Today’s effort demonstrates the power of community action and the positive change we can bring when we work together.”

Mr. Akshay Deshpande added, “Initiatives like this highlight the ongoing commitment required to maintain our natural resources. By coming together, we clean our lakes and educate and inspire others to join the cause.”

The success of today’s cleanup at Wipro Lake is a testament to the collective efforts of Switcheko, Micron Technologies, eLife Cycle Management, and the enthusiastic volunteers.
