The Embassy of Argentina and Government of Misiones Successfully Host Yerba Mate Tasting Events in New Delhi and Mumbai.

New Delhi / Mumbai, November 2025: The Embassy of Argentina and the Argentine Consulate, in collaboration with the State Government of Misiones, Argentina, successfully concluded the “Mother of All Drinks, Yerba Mate” beverage tasting events in New Delhi and Mumbai. The events were held on 11th November at Andaz by Hyatt, New Delhi, and 14th November at Taj President, Mumbai, celebrating Argentina’s iconic drink and its entry into India’s wellness and lifestyle landscape. Under the theme “Bringing a global wellness drink to Indian lifestyles through relatable routines, local languages, and aspirational storytelling,” the initiative aimed to introduce Yerba Mate as a beverage that blends health, culture, and mindfulness.

The events witnessed participation from notable dignitaries and representatives, including:

• H.E. Mr. Facundo Lopez Sartori, Minister of Agriculture and Production, Government of Misiones, Argentina

Both evenings brought together media professionals, wellness enthusiasts, and lifestyle influencers who experienced the many forms of Yerba Mate — from traditional infusions to innovative desserts — accompanied by authentic Argentine Chamamé music. The sessions featured engaging presentations on the province of Misiones, the heartland of Yerba Mate cultivation, and its vibrant culture and tourism.

Speakers emphasized that Yerba Mate is more than a beverage — it is a daily ritual promoting productivity, focus, and balance. The drink complements every part of the day — from a morning energizer to a refreshing afternoon companion — symbolizing natural vitality and connection.

Health, Heritage & Performance A highlight of the event was a presentation exploring Yerba Mate’s connection with global football icon Lionel Messi and its popularity among Argentine athletes, who consume it for its natural energy, focus, and recovery benefits. Guests learned about the traditional preparation — brewed in a Mate gourd and sipped through a bombilla (metal straw) — and Yerba Mate’s scientifically proven benefits:
