It famously took Hillary Clinton five attempts to successfully access the New York City subway system, but she’s not the only one who has trouble swiping the ol’ MetroCard.
In fact, it’s a pretty common problem — as evidenced by this heartbreaking new compilation video from Gothamist.
According to the New York Times, the optimal MetroCard swipe speed is between 10 and 40 inches per second (IPS). So if you’re having trouble getting through, just, like, do that. Good luck.
