World Digital Detox Day Recognised with Global Peace Award for Advancing Digital Well-Being, Mental Health Security, and Child Protection at a Global Scale

Geneva / Dubai / New Delhi…October 27, 2025 — The World Digital Detox Day (WDDD) — a non-profit global humanitarian mission addressing the escalating mental health and digital safety crisis — has been honoured with the Global Peace Award in Dubai by the Global Peace Institute (UK) and Global Peace Organisation, in collaboration with Impact Hub UAE.

Founded and led by Dr. Rekha Chaudhari (India), WDDD has become the world’s largest digital wellness and peace movement, active in 78 countries and engaging over 8.5 million individuals, educators, institutions, and wellness leaders globally.

WDDD advocates for digital fasting, smartphone-free childhood, and ethical digital behavior, positioning digital mental health and human attention as fundamental global peace rights in the AI-driven era.

This year, WDDD received institutional recognition from the Supreme Court of India, as well as global wellness leaders and educational entities, all acknowledging the urgent need for age-gated digital access and stronger child protection laws, reinforcing the demand for global policy reform.

“Digital overload is one of the greatest public health and peace threats of our time. Social media and smartphones are silently controlling the future of our youth,” said Dr. Rekha Chaudhari. “We have entered an era where digital peace is global peace — and protecting childhood is a moral and planetary responsibility. If we do not act now, the future will be dangerous — every household will face mental health disorders in the next generation. The crisis has already begun.”

World Digital Detox Day is officially observed every year on December 10, inviting individuals, schools, and governments to participate in Digital Fasting — a structured pause from devices to restore mental clarity, family bonds, and conscious tech ethics.

WDDD is actively working with UN bodies, WHO frameworks, national ministries, and global CSR leaders to make digital well-being a policy priority — not just a personal choice.
