Mysterious, low-frequency hums heard all around the world have baffled scientists and driven the residents crazy fro decades. Now striking a disparate set of locations, widespread reports of the sound first appeared in Bristol, England in the 1970s.
Studies have shown the hu to often occur at a frequency between 40 and 80 hertz around the world and only about 2 percent of the people in a given area ca hear the sound. There are many theories as to the cause of the hums, ranging from mass hysteria to low frequency military communications or even noise caused by mating fish but a true cause has yet to be discovered despite real danger – 3 suicides have been linked to the maddening hum in the UK.
