A Beacon of Sri Vidya: The Spiritual Journey of Pujya Gurudev Sadamalananda Nadha

In the bustling city of Hyderabad, a spiritual journey that would inspire countless seekers began on September 13th, 1967. Born into a devout family as Venkatramana, the fifth son of Sri Ananth Padmanabha Murthy and Smt. Venkata Subhalakshmi, his early life was marked by a profound inclination towards spirituality. Unlike other children of his age, young Venkatramana was deeply drawn to the sacred and the divine, often embarking on pilgrimages to the holy site of Srisailam. By adulthood, he had visited Srisailam over 250 times, each visit deepening his connection with the divine.

The first significant milestone in Venkatramana’s spiritual journey came in 1981, when he visited the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. It was here, in the revered presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Maha Swamiji, that he received his first Beeja Mantra Upadesa, a spiritual initiation that would set the course for his life. This experience marked the beginning of his transformation into a dedicated seeker of spiritual knowledge.

In 1983, Venkatramana’s quest for spiritual wisdom led him to Guru Sri Sarangapaniji, under whose guidance he delved into the practices of Siddha Samadhi Yoga. During this time, he received his second Beeja Mantra, further deepening his spiritual practice. His dedication to these sacred practices eventually led him to the powerful path of Sri Vidya Upasana, an ancient and revered spiritual tradition.

The turning point in Venkatramana’s spiritual journey came when he met Pujya Gurudev Parama Sri Sarvananda Nada, an enlightened master from the Himalayas. Under the guidance of this revered teacher, Venkatramana was initiated into the Sri Vidya Moola Mantra Panchadasi and Sri Vidya Upasana. It was during the Poorabhishekam ceremony that he was bestowed with the sacred name Sadamalananda Nadha, symbolizing his complete immersion into the divine path of Sri Vidya.

As Pujya Gurudev Sadamalananda Nadha, he embarked on a lifelong journey of studying and practicing Sri Vidya. His devotion to this path was unmatched, as he sought out various Sri Vidya Gurus and Upasakas, gathering exclusive and profound insights into this ancient practice. His understanding of Sri Vidya was not just theoretical; it was lived, experienced, and shared with those who sought his guidance.

In 2019, driven by a deep desire to spread the teachings of Sri Vidya, Pujya Gurudev founded the Sri Vidya Prachar Samsthan. This institution became a beacon of learning and spiritual practice, where he imparted his vast knowledge to countless seekers. His teachings went beyond rituals, offering a holistic understanding of Sri Vidya that blended tradition with profound spiritual experiences.

One of the most significant practices that Pujya Gurudev emphasized was the Sri Chakra NavaavarNa Pooja, performed every month on the day of Purnima (full moon). This sacred ritual involved the illustration of the Sri Chakra on the ground, adorned with vibrant colors or flowers, allowing devotees to connect with the divine energy of the Sri Chakra and experience the profound blessings of the Goddess.

Throughout his life, Pujya Gurudev undertook numerous pilgrimages, each journey adding to his spiritual evolution. He visited all 12 Jyotirlingas, most of the 18 Shakti Peethas, and several other sacred sites. His pilgrimages to Amarnath (Amer Kailash) in 1999, Adhi Kailash in 2012, Kinnaur Kailash in 2014, Char Dham in 2013, and Srikhand Mahadev in 2014, were not just physical journeys but deeply transformative spiritual experiences that further enriched his teachings.

Pujya Gurudev Sadamalananda Nadha’s life is a testament to the power of devotion, the pursuit of spiritual knowledge, and the grace of the divine. His journey from a young boy in Hyderabad to a revered spiritual leader is an inspiration to all who seek the path of Sri Vidya. Through his teachings, practices, and the Sri Vidya Prachar Samsthan, his legacy continues to guide and bless countless seekers on their journey to the divine.
