This Curtain Raiser Charity Concert for Kala Ghoda will be held on Sunday, 29 September 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA. With the event already sold out, it promises to be an extraordinary night of music and cultural reverence, dedicated to preserving the artistic soul of the Kala Ghoda Art District.

This concert serves as a crucial cornerstone in supporting the mission to fund essential restoration projects and protect the rich cultural essence of this iconic South Mumbai precinct. Brinda Miller, Chairperson of the Kala Ghoda Association and Festival Director, passionately remarks, “As we approach the monumental 25th edition of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, we are delighted to continue our tradition of celebrating art, culture, and community in Mumbai’s heart. The Rahul Deshpande Collective is an effort to rally support and raise funds for the preservation of Kala Ghoda’s artistic and architectural treasures, with the steadfast support of our patrons and collaborators.”

Renowned for his captivating renditions and contributions to the classical music scene, Rahul Deshpande, grandson of the legendary Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande of the Patiala Gharana, will grace the evening with his ensemble. Attendees can expect a melodic tribute to India’s classical music legacy, resonating through the theatre and celebrating the spirit of Kala Ghoda.

The event also celebrates the CSMVS Ancient World Gallery Project, with this concert acting as the closing act of the exhibition titled “Ancient Sculptures” at the CSMVS Museum.
