Daniel Day-Lewis, a standout amongst the most generally regarded on-screen characters of his era and a three-time Oscar-victor, says he’s resigning from acting.
The 60-year-old on-screen character reported Tuesday that he has shot his last film and performed in his last play. That makes Paul Thomas Anderson’s as of now taped “Apparition Thread,” due out in December, his last film.
“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor,” his representative Leslee Dart said in a statement. “He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
