New Delhi, 28 November 2024: In alignment with FSSAI’s Eat Right India Initiative, Herbalife has organized The Food Safety Summit 2024, at The Lalit, New Delhi. The event was managed by The Red Carpet Ventures, bringing together key stakeholders, including regulators, industry leaders, academicians, and consumer organizations, to deliberate on strengthening the food safety ecosystem through technology, workplace wellness, and consumer empowerment.
The summit commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief guest Smt. Inoshi Sharma IRS, Executive Director, FSSAI. The inaugural session featured valuable insights from Smt. Shubhrata Prakash, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax on the importance of mental health and Dr. Mudit Kapoor, Economist who gave insights from the latest NSSO data on food-related trends. The summit featured critical discussions on health, innovation, and consumer empowerment in the food sector. A session on “Mindful Eating at Work,” led by Ms. Bhuvaneswari Balasubramanian, highlighted the role of nutritious workplace food and awareness campaigns in boosting employee productivity. Another session, “Unleashing the Potential of AI in the Food Sector,” moderated by Sh. S.Sharad Rao, explored AI’s transformative impact on food safety through enhanced traceability and compliance, emphasizing public-private partnerships. Lastly, Sh.Rakesh Kumar led a session on “Empowering Consumers,” focusing on clear food labelling, consumer education, and aligning marketing claims with regulatory standards to protect consumer interests.
The audience included Political leaders, Food Regulators, FBOs, and AI Providers, Industry professionals, Academic professionals, and students. The Food Safety Summit 2024 served as a pivotal platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. The event concluded with actionable insights and strengthened collaborations toward building a safer, healthier, and more transparent food ecosystem.
