Iggy Pop,Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders have signed up to create an album, ‘Post Pop Depression’ which will launch in March.
The trio have joined up to create ‘Post Pop Depression’-which will launch in Goal-which was documented in key over year ago between Josh’s two studios in Los Angeles,Joshua Tree and Pink Duck in Los Angeles.
The track are influenced by Iggy’s single record ‘Lust for Life’, which was produced by the late Bob Bowie in 1977.
Explaining the impact of the record on their new audio,Queen of the Stone Age frontman Josh, 42,said:”Where those records pointed, it stopped …But without copying it, that direction actually goes for miles. And when you keep going for miles you can’t see these two records any more.”
Iggy, 68, has also exposed the album’s concept is motivated by his improving decades and the encroachment of the end of his life.
He said:”In American life, because it’s so hyper-competitive, what happens when you’re finally useless to everyone except hopefully not yourself? What happens then? And can you continue to be of use to yourself? I had a kind of character in mind. It was sort of a cross between myself and a military veteran.”
As well as Iggy, Josh and Matt,’Post Pop Depression’ also feature Dean Fertita, queens of the Stone Age, and the Dead Weather,on guitars and keyboard.
