‘Literature and Cinema’ Announced as the of AILF 2025

The 10th Edition of the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival (AILF), an initiative of Ikon Education Foundation, was officially launched with a vibrant theme poster unveiling ceremony at their office complex in Ahmedabad. This years theme, Literature and Cinema, sets the stage for an exciting exploration of how words and visuals intersect to tell compelling stories that shape culture and inspire thought.

 

The event started by traditional lamp lighting and welcome speech by the festival director Umashanker Yadav. He introduced the theme and vision of the festival and also talked about his plans for celebrating the landmark edition. In his address, he emphasized the importance of nurturing platforms that allow literature and cinema to be discussed side by side, offering creators, readers, and viewers an opportunity to connect, reflect, and collaborate across disciplines.

 

The launch was graced by distinguished dignitaries from different walks of life Vision Rawal (AI Expert), Shraddha Ramani (Educationist & Author), Kumud Verma (Author), Subash Singh (Sub-Zonal office, ICCR Ahmedabad), R.S. Yadav (GM, ONGC), Ketan Trivedi (Digital Editor- Chitralekha), and Dr. P.M. Anavartham (Director, The Book Therapy).

 

The event also witnessed insightful contributions from international research scholars from Kenya, Burundi, Bangladesh, and Uganda, who shared their perspectives on the theme. Their reflections brought in a rich global context and demonstrated how storytelling—whether in print or on screen—acts as a mirror to identity, social change, and cultural memory.

 

As the festival prepares to return on October 11–12, 2025, at the Centre for Environment Education,Ahmedabad, audiences can look forward to a dynamic lineup of panel discussions, film screenings, performances, and workshops.
