Swimmer Michael Phelps is all about the gold at the Olympics, but now he’s focusing on another precious commodity, diamonds! Phelps popped the question to his on-again/off again girlfriend Nicole Johnson with a sparkler, and she said yes!
Rolling around in the snow, the couple looked lovingly at each other, posting his and hers shots to Instagram. She captioned hers, “I’m gonna be a Mrs.” He captioned his, “She said yes!”
Michael’s 2015 is off to a much better start than last year, where he was dogged by tabloid rumors and plead guilty to DUI after a September arrest. Phelps and his new fiancée, a former Miss California USA, have had a rollercoaster romance, but things started looking serious around Christmas. The happy couple was joined by their friend, swimmer Allison Schmitt, who served as impromptu engagement photographer.
