Nothing Confirms Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 for Phone (3); Launch Set for 1 July

London-based consumer technology company Nothing announced that its upcoming flagship smartphone, Phone (3), will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 — the most advanced chipset ever used in a Nothing device.

In a candid discussion on Nothing TV, CEO Carl Pei revealed: “We thought: let’s take our time. Let’s fix the small things. Let’s actually add something new.”

Pei explained that the two-year gap since Phone (2) reflected Nothing’s refusal to release upgrades solely for the sake of annual refreshes: “There’s not much you can do anymore. Smartphones are a mature product category. Why launch a flagship every year?”

Comparing Phone (3) to its predecessor, Pei added: “Compared to Phone (2), it’s going to be 36% faster on CPU, 88% stronger on GPU, and 60% stronger on the NPU. But what it means in practice is it will feel a lot snappier.”

Phone (3) is set to launch globally on 1 July at 10:30 PM IST, and marks the brand’s boldest step forward to date. Previously confirmed as Nothing’s first true flagship, Phone (3) features premium materials, major performance upgrades, and runs on the custom Nothing OS, all coming together to offer a refined, elevated user experience.

The recent Nothing TV episode also offered a preview of Headphone (1), the company’s first over-ear audio product, along with insights into the research and development behind Phone (3). It also introduced Essential Space, a new content-led initiative from the brand that aims to engage its growing global community.

Both Phone (3) and Headphone (1) will be officially unveiled on 1 July in London.
