Producer Director Kumar Raj Honoured with Prestigious International Entertainment Award in Bali

In a landmark moment for Indian and global cinema, acclaimed Producer Director Kumar Raj, Padma Shri Nominee 2025, was honoured with one of the highest international entertainment honours in Bali, Indonesia, for his extraordinary contribution to women-centric and socially transformative cinema. The recognition followed exclusive VVIP screenings of his internationally celebrated films Tara: The Journey of Love and Passion and Ameena, and was attended by global dignitaries, senior political leaders, cultural ambassadors, eminent personalities from Bali, and select international guests.

Kumar Raj and Sonam were specially invited and personally honoured at the ceremony, reflecting the immense global respect commanded by their cinematic journey. This prestigious accolade further cements Kumar Raj’s position among the most influential filmmakers of contemporary world cinema, known for stories that transcend borders while remaining deeply rooted in social consciousness and empowernment.

Kumar Raj’s iconic film Tara: The Journey of Love and Passion stands as a historic achievement. The film was officially selected for the Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category from West Africa and has been screened in over 175 countries, winning an unprecedented 590 international awards with selections at more than 780 global film festivals. In recognition of this unmatched impact, Kumar Raj has been inducted into 35 World Books of Records, holding the world record for the highest number of international selections and awards for films.

His latest women-centric film Ameena continues to script box-office history, having successfully completed 95 weeks in theatres and steadily progressing towards the rare 100-week milestone. Starring Rekha Rana in a powerful triple role, the film reinforces Kumar Raj’s commitment to meaningful cinema that resonates with audiences and critics alike.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar Raj said, “Cinema is my lifelong devotion. Through my films, I strive to give voice to women and create stories that leave a lasting impact on society.” He also expressed gratitude for his Padma Shri nomination, calling it a deeply emotional validation of his journey.
