#8.Texas City Disaster, April 16, 1947
Refineries and oil capacity tanks of the Monsanto synthetic plant smolder in the waterfront region of Texas City, TX.
The calamity was created by the blast of the French ship Grandcamp, which was stacked with 7,700 tons of
ammonium nitrate. Around 2.7 kilotons of vitality—the likeness 1.134 kilotons of TNT—was discharged.
581 passed on, and more than 5,000 were harmed. This is by and large considered the most noticeably awful
mechanical mishap in United States history.
