Katic leaving Castle for ‘budgetary reasons’

CASTLE - "Dead Red" - When the son of a Russian diplomat turns up murdered, Beckett and Castle find themselves in a dangerous game of international crime and punishment, with Castle having to entertain a jovial Russian security officer who winds up more involved than anyone planned, on "Castle," MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Nicole Wilder) STANA KATIC

Stana Katic is leaving “Castle” after eight seasons.

The 37-year-old actress – who has played Captain Kate Beckett in the crime series since its 2009 debut – won’t return for the arranged ninth season after ABC chose not to renew her agreement for ‘budgetary reasons’, as per Deadline.

Be that as it may, her co-star Nathan Fillion, 45, who plays Kate’s spouse Rick Castle, is required to return for season nine in the event that it is reestablished for a shorter 13-scene run.

Stana would not remark on the explanations behind her takeoff, but rather said: ‘Rather than distract from what was an amazing experience, I would just like to say that I’m very grateful to ABC for giving me the opportunity to be a part of a much beloved show. Thank you to the fans.’

Stana is by all account not the only female star leaving the appear, season eight will likewise be the keep going for Tamala Jones – who played restorative inspector Lanie Parish.

ABC said in an announcement: ‘Kate Beckett has been a beloved character on our hit series ‘Castle’ for the past eight years. We are grateful for Stana Katic’s talent and dedication to the series and we hope to continue our relationship. Tamala Jones has also been an integral part of the series and we are grateful she was a part of ‘Castle’.’

Co stars Jon Huertas, who plays Detective Esposito, and Seamus Dever, who plays Detective Kevin Ryan, have communicated their sentiments online about the news.

Huertas said he needed to learn in regards to the choice online and said Katic and Parish resembled family.

‘What else is sad???!!!! That I have to find this out online!!! This is my family! Why couldn’t someone have told me #InADifferentWay ?!’ he said in a tweet.

‘Who knows what ABC has in store at this point. @seamusdever and I haven’t been asked back yet either Uh oh. #NothingIsAsitSeemsAnymore,’ he said in another.
Disturbed fans have taken to Twitter to express their consternation at the system’s choice
