It’s been 20 years since Madonna last performed at the BRIT Awards. So there was a lot of buildup ahead of her performance. By now I’m sure you’ve heard that she fell. She couldn’t get her cloak untied in time and the dancers pulled and she went over and God, that looked dangerous. I mean it could have gone seriously sideways.
Madonna tumbled down a set of stairs and landed awkwardly, apparently after a dancer tried to remove a cape she was wearing at the start of her routine.
But she recovered and returned to continue her song, Living For Love.
The 56-year-old issued a statement later saying she was “fine” and that her cape had been “tied too tight”.
Here’s what happened: Madonna was belting out “Living for Love” at the Brit Awards in London. It’s a song that coincidentally includes the lyrics “lifted me up and watched me stumble, after the heartache I’m gonna carry on.”
The plan was for the dancer to pull off the cape, but it was still tied around Madonna’s neck. And down goes Madonna!
