Oprah drops 26 pounds, gains $12 million with one Weight Watchers tweet.


Weight Watchers stock is getting again,thanks to The Oprah Winfrey’s weight-loss.

The company stocks increased Tuesday after a new commercial featuring Winfrey broadcasted where she says she has lost 26 pounds on Weight Viewers. Winfrey said during an overall look on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that she began on the plan in Aug.

Winfrey obtained 10 % discuss in the weight-loss company in October.Its inventory is up more than 90 % since then. Winfrey is a natural fit for the company:Her battle with weight was a regular subject of her former talk show.

“I love bread,”Winfrey says in the new commercial.”That’s the genius of this program.I lost 26 pounds and I have eaten bread every single day.”

Winfrey posted the ad online Tuesday to her nearly 31 million Twitter followers.

Weight Watchers has also made changes to its plans lately to better fit in with Winfrey’s message of living a healthy and happy life,and not just concentrating on weight-loss.

Shares of New York-based Weight Watchers International Inc.rose 21% to $13.44 in mid-day dealing.According to MarketWatch, the gain was approximately $2 a share and Winfrey,with some 6 million shares,earned $12 million within an hour of her twitter update.
